A responsive facelift

for a Vancouver photographer's legacy online gallery

When my father passed away in May of 2019 I wanted to use my skills to preserve his existing site and then update it to be responsive for mobile viewing. He was a Vancouver-based commercial photographer for over 40 years and took thousands of photos still in process of being archived.

For this project, I used a Cargo Collective template and modified it using the interface and CSS. I wanted to honour his original branding on the legacy site while bringing the design up to date with current trends.

I wanted to focus on creating a clean, easy-to-use design that focuses on the optimal viewing experience for the photos themselves. The site went live in 2019 and gave my family and friends a chance to finally see some of his lesser-known work.
