Custom website built using Squarespace for a popular local amateur strip competition
There is no inappropriate or explicit content, but this website deals with mature themes intended for 19+ audiences.
For almost 10 years, Rent Cheque has been a unique event in the East Vancouver scene. I jumped at the opportunity to work with the event's organizer Abby Normal (stage name) and expand on the existing site.
The client already had a working site in Squarespace, so I met with her to discuss the site user needs and experience strategy. Based on her input and user research, I provided a mockup of a solution that worked. I then rebuilt the site by using custom CSS to modify existing Squarespace content blocks.
The site launched after the first event on May 8th, 2023. The first iteration was only 1 page, so the reduced bounce rate is not an accurate measure of success, but since launch, it has been steady at around 52%. There have been over 6.6K page views and 5.2K unique visitors.
As the show continues to gain steam after a long hiatus due to the pandemic, I look forward to working with Abby on more updates.
